4.1 Support student participation
While I was unable to utilise this training on my Professional Experience Placements I have undertaken Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum (KS: CPC) training. The KS: CPC training supports teachers in delivering a proactive child protection curriculum as well as supporting teachers in enabling their classroom to be safe for all students regardless of background, culture or gender and/or sexual identity. This training has helped me identify areas in my own practice that I can improve upon, that I didn't think of previously. It has also given me ideas for supporting student participation in the future. Please click below to be taken to the certificate of completion.

4.2 Manage classroom activities
When managing classroom activities, I would use a number of strategies. If using task sheets, I would ensure that clear instructions are printed on the task sheet as well as delivering them verbally. If there were no task sheets being used, instructions would be written on the whiteboard (usually in black or blue marker to ensure ease of reading) or presented via a PowerPoint presentation as well as being given verbally. Regardless of type of activity, clear instructions would be included on DayMap which could be accessed at any time. Any worksheets or PowerPoint presentations would be included on DayMap for future reference. I would also move within the classroom in order to answer questions or to reiterate instructions given. Below is an example of instructions written on the whiteboard during a Year 8 English Horror unit from my third year Professional Experience Placement as well as a PowerPoint presentation used within my Year 8 English Poetry unit during my final Professional Experience Placement.

4.3 Manage challenging behaviour
Managing challenging behaviour was something that I encountered in my third year Professional Experience Placement. Many of the students came from low socio-economic backgrounds and had behavioural problems that even experienced teachers struggled to handle. This resulted in my mentor and I team teaching this particular Year 8 English class with her managing the explosive and out of control behaviour and myself the more day-to-day behaviour. Regardless of this, I still tried to manage all aspects of behaviour as much as possible. By my final Professional Experience Placement, I was able to manage all aspects of students behaviour with little to none mentor intervention. Please see below for the final report from my third year Professional Experience with the relevant sections highlighted in yellow.

4.4 Maintain student safety
Maintaining student safety is vital at all times, regardless of whether they are on school grounds or participating in an excursion. While on my final Professional Experience Placement I attended two excursions; one was a Stage 2 English and Drama excursion to Cornerstone College to watch the play Terrestrial and the second was a Stage 1 Legal Studies excursion to the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts in Adelaide. I also participated in yard duty where I was supervising students in the canteen are during lunch times with my mentor. Document 1 is my final report with the relevant sections highlighted.
During my third year Professional Experience, I had the opportunity to re-arrange the classroom and I did so with not only what was practical in the space but also student safety in mind. The second document discusses the changes made to the classroom in more detail.

4.5 Use ICT safely, responsibly and ethically
Use of ICT safely, responsibly and ethically is important in today's society; especially with cyberbullying overtaking stereotypical schoolyard bullying in many respects. In core topic EDUC3628 Numeracy and ICT across the Middle and Secondary curriculum we were required to create a blog post for a future class explaining safe and responsible use of ICT within our subject area or on an issue in general. I chose to focus on ICT and cyberbullying in order to be applicable to all students that I may teach across multiple subject areas. Please see the link below for the blog post.
