6.1 Identify and plan professional learning needs
In liaison with my line manager, I have identified my learning goals and how I am going to work towards achieving them. In 2020, I was successful in completing one of my goals which was to complete my post-graduate degree of Master of Education (Teacher Librarianship) as well as developing a good work-life balance. Going into 2021, I refined my two of my goals as my work environment had changed and I was no longer completing my post-graduate degree. I have involved myself in numerous committees and projects and as such, I need to balance things differently. My short-term and long-term goals have not changed as I am still working towards my proficient status and full registration (in the short term) and gaining permanency (in the long term).

6.2 Engage in professional learning and improve practice
During 2021, I have been a committee member for School Libraries Association of South Australia (SLASA). This has enabled me to be able to work with others in my profession and be able to learn from then – especially as a recent graduate Teacher-Librarian. I have been minute taker for the Committee Meetings and this has allowed me to be able to observe the practice of my colleagues and be able to make judgements on how I can improve my own.
