7.1 Meet professional ethics and responsibilities
When I was at any of the schools for my Professional Experience Placements I ensured that I was approachable by staff, students and community members. I also ensured that any communication (verbal or written) was appropriate, polite and concise. I also ensured that I followed the schools ethos based around Martin Seligman's Positive Education during my final year Professional Experience Placement. Please see Standard 5.5 for examples of emails sent to my mentor during my third year and final year Professional Experience Placement.

7.2 Comply with legislative, administrative and organisational requirements
When on Professional Experience Placements it is important to ensure that all students are safe and that teachers and other staff act within the bounds of the legislative, administrative and organisational requirements. Prior to starting my Professional Experience Placement, I already had the following:
25/01/2024 - Please note that these certificates are in a password protected section of the e-portfolio and a request must be made to recieve the password. They have also since been updated in the years since I first completed them and as such course ID numbers and/or course names may have changed.

Prior to starting my Professional Experience Placement, I already had the following:
- Department of Communities and Social Inclusion clearance which states that I am allowed to be around children;
- Responding to Abuse and Neglect: Education and Care training certificate which states that I am aware of the mandatory notification requirements of teaching and;
- Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) certificate which states that I have the ability to provide first aid if required.

7.3 Engage with the parents/carers
During my Professional Experience Placements I communicated with parents during both years. During my third year Professional Experience Placement, I sent letters to parents explaining who I am and what I would be teaching their child. I met parents on a face-to-face level during my final Professional Experience Placement during Learning Conversations about their child's' progress thus far. I only met with three families as my mentor primarily had meeting with families that I was not teaching. Please see below for an example of the letter I sent out (document 1) and notes from the Learning Conversations (document 2).

7.4 Engage with professional teaching networks and broader communities
During my final Professional Experience Placement I attended a Legal Education Teacher Association of South Australia (LETASA) meeting after school hours. This exposed me to the wider professional teaching networks available and I was encouraged to join it (which I plan to do at the start of next year). I also am a member of the Early Career Teachers Project, Teachers of Adelaide, Relief Teachers Ideas Community, and SACE Research Project Teachers all of which are Facebook groups designed to network with and support colleagues. These formal and informal networks provide a space for me to learn and to grow within my teaching career.
